Café mortel sonore

L’artiste Salima Punjani vous propose d’explorer l’expérience du deuil par le biais du son et des vibrations, dans un rituel de soin collectif. Les participant·e·s seront appelé·e·s à considérer les choses plus difficiles de la vie, puis à trouver des sons qui permettent de symboliser ces émotions. Grâce à des coussins vibrotactiles – une technologie permettant de transformer les sons en vibrations –, nous prendrons le temps d’écouter collectivement les histoires de chacun·e. Ainsi, nous tenterons de permettre à notre vécu d’exister par-delà la parole: nous le ressentirons plutôt, à travers nos sens et nos corps. Gâteaux et thé seront offerts.

Salima Punjani (elle, accords féminins) est une artiste autodidacte à l’approche multisensorielle et relationnelle résidant à Tiotià:ke/Montréal. Elle détient un baccalauréat en communications et sciences politiques de l’Université Carleton, un diplôme d’études supérieures en journalisme de l’Université Concordia, ainsi qu’une maîtrise en travail social de l’Université McGill.

Salima Punjani invites you to an exploration of grief through sound and vibrations. For this gathering, you will be invited to a ritual of collective care in which you consider things that are feeling difficult in your life and find sounds and vibrations that symbolize these feelings. We will then collectively listen to each other’s stories and symbols through vibrotactile pillows - technology that amplifies sound into vibrations. The idea is to expand our stories and experiences beyond talking, and into feeling, using our bodies and senses to listen to each other. Cake and tea provided. 

ABOUT
Salima Punjani (she/her) is a Tiohtià:ke based multi-sensory artist grounded in relational aesthetics. She is a self-trained artist, holding a BA in Mass Communication and Political Science from Carleton University, Graduate Diploma in Journalism from Concordia University and Master’s in Social Work from McGill University.
